Little Black Dress – 04.16.26

• The DeForest Chapter of Blessings in a Backpack will be hosting the Little Black Dress Event on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 6-9 pm at Lake Windsor Country Club. This is the primary fundraiser for our Chapter. This event draws over 100 supporters, and the names of businesses/individuals donating will be prominently displayed at the event as well as mentioned on our Facebook page. The money raised from The Little Black Dress Event will be used to continue to provide nutritional food on the weekends for children at risk of food insecurity. We are currently serving over 200 children in the district. Meeting the nutritional needs of these children leads to better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health and increased attendance. In addition, children know they are cared about even when they are not in school. The Blessings in a Backpack – DeForest program started in 2014 in the Windsor Elementary School and has since expanded to all schools in the DeForest Area School District, along with a number of local preschools (4k).
